Objective

The main objectives of the Power & Energy laboratory are to establish, maintain and upgrade national standards of Electrical power measurements compatible to international standards through research and development.

The laboratory has been providing traceability of electrical power measurements to the customers at international level.

The main activities of the laboratory are participating inter comparisons in the field of electrical power/energy & high voltage in order to assure international traceability and providing calibration service to the calibration /testing laboratories and industry.

Primary Standards

• K 2006 Three – Phase comparator(class 0.01)
  • Voltage range - 30V 500 V
  • Current Range - 5 mA 160 A

Existing facilities of Power & Energy Laboratory

The following secondary Power & Energy standards have been established in the Power & Energy laboratory.

• Single Phase Meter Test System (Five position) Accuracy class 0.05
• Three Phase Meter Test System (Five position) Accuracy class 0.05
• Precision high voltage meter – 10 kV (AC/DC)
